Meredith Lake

by

We made our way to Meredith Lake, TX. We passed a huge copper refinery right outside of Amarillo that spins the ore from Mexico and Peru into wire. We drove by the Alibates Ranch lands – over 187,000 acres- and enjoyed the farm to market and ranch to market roads that got us off I-40. These are paved country roads in Texas where the speed limit is 75 mph for a two-lane road. Meredith Lake is dry – this is a closed boat ramp where the water is far from the ramp.

Sometimes you start off on a walk questioning your footwear. This was just a short walk before lunch that turned off-path and onto slick rock where sandals weren’t the best option. But we made it:)

Oh, and the sunset was beautiful!
