Memories

by

And so ends our first Snowbird trip. After winterizing 🙁 Usain in Oklahoma we drove up to my sister’s house in Kansas for a family reunion of sorts. It was a time of reflection and memories we took turns picking out items remaining from our parent’s estate.

My first selection was the Champaign glasses from my parent’s 25th wedding anniversary. I recall that they went all out that day with a big celebration complete with a catered meal for friends and relatives. My dad even pulled my mom home a few blocks in a decorated “just married” wagon from the restaurant. It was a joyous occasion and one I will never forget.

Ryan and Stasia came down from Iowa for the gathering and it was so good to see them after 3 months wintering in Texas. We’re looking forward to getting home to see Lauren and Bonnie as well.

We left my sisters Saturday afternoon and spent the night in Usain at a simple RV park in Emporia before heading to Ankeny on Sunday.
