We switch from using the Gas Camping Stove Add-on that we previously had purchased to a portable induction stove. The biggest headache with the gas stove was having to purchase the small bottles and worse yet was the fact that they go to a landfill when they’re empty. I had hope to eventually connect the Coleman gas stove to the Boldt’s external propane connector, but I wasn’t able to find the right parts to get that to work.
I read about other RVers using portable induction stoves and this seemed like a great alternative. The advantages are no gas bottles to buy/discard and the induction stove can be used inside the van if we need a second burner. The induction stove easily fits on our small Camp Table – Add-on or on a nearby picnic table when used with a heavy-duty extension cord we carry in Usain’s garage. The stove even fits in the same tote bag we used for the gas stove so it can store in the back closet in the same place.
