The Boldt’s bathroom door comes installed with a magnet that is supposed to keep the door open while traveling. We initially found it didn’t work very well as it kept slamming open and shut while making turns. After some adjustment of the metal plate it seemed to work better. That is, until screw holding the magnet into place stripped out of the door while traveling in Colorado. That was the last straw.

I added a couple of hooks from my father in-law’s junk drawer and a small bungie cord. One of our check-list items before driving is to make sure the bungie cord is in place. Other items on the list include water pump off, inverter off, refrigerator door latched, nothing on the kitchen counter that can fly off, and the cats stowed in their kennel.
