Before leaving Northampton, we stop once again at the Outlook Farm store to get more apples, some cheese and a cinnamon twist treat. The twist reminded Tony of his mom’s pastries, but it was made from a different dough. Still tasty, but not like Kay’s twists. Got some pictures at the store this time!

“Old Exit —-“ signs are all along our route in Massachusetts and in Connecticut. Tony looked up why and finally gets a clear picture of one. Turns out Mass, Conn, New York and Rhode Island all numbered their exits sequentially rather than by mile marker. The feds are making them change that just this year, so they are starting with the major roads first. These signs are up to help people navigate as the old numbers will be on maps, both paper and GPS. We also have a picture of advertisements on a bridge as we got stuck in traffic due to construction and an accident.

Today we are in Connecticut for the first time. Staying at the Niantic KOA. Hiking trails in Rocky Neck State Park are right across the street, so we easily chose a trail that took us to the beach. They have a huge 90-year-old pavilion for weddings and special events. We also stopped at the liquor store right next to the campground for a bottle of wine to go with supper.
