We left the campground right away for the Catskills Visitor’s Center where we knew we could get internet service. Tony checked in with work, we found our route for travel today, then we took a short walk to the fire tower on site. There are six remaining fire towers in the Catskills and they are maintained for hikers. The 1990s saw the last posts at fire towers.

One detour around a nine-foot clearance bridge was necessary on our way to the Delaware Water Gap/ Pocono Mountains KOA campground. We stayed on 209 through Port Jervis, NY to Matamoras, PA to avoid the Neversink River Bridge. New York has almost seven pages of low clearance bridges on a 34-page document I found online at Coach-net, by far the most of any state.
The KOA we are staying at has guinea fowls running around and many chipmunks, too. We saw horses and deer in the farm field behind us. The cats are very entertained by the chipmunks near the campsite. Catnip tried to chase one on the leash (her anchor was too slow) and put her whole face down the hole where it disappeared. Primrose did the same, but she still just meows around my legs when outside. I had to carry her over to the chipmunk house.
