Tony finally got his seafood buffet feast at Louie’s Backyard. We ate dockside and had a couple of evening cruises go by. Our waiter checked on who was driving after Tony ordered a big drink with six different liquors in it—we walked, we’re prepared. I promised to take care of him.

We walked the beach at low tide, and could see lots of clams at water’s edge. You can clearly see (from upper right in the picture) the inhale siphon, exhale siphon and the muscular foot as they fight the surf and bury themselves. I saw this sand turtle being constructed and got a picture the next morning.

Walking the beach definitely puts me in my happy place. And Tony puts up with the sand to get the warm temperatures on South Padre Island. Isla Blanca Park is an economical way to stay here and join the Winter Texan crowd.
