The chimney hike was our pick for the day. This being the busy season for the park, we felt lucky to get a parking spot here. We got a late start with the daylight savings time change and sleeping in. The chimneys are fun to climb up and around. There are several animal trails to follow.

We had a family from north of Dallas join us on our last night at Ocotillo Vistas. The two kids, Adam and Olivia, were on spring break. As I walked down the road to stretch my legs before dinner, they were trying to unknot a kite string after the maiden flight of their new kite. I stopped to help. They left for Big Bend park adventures early the next morning just as we were waking up; I left this painted shell from South Padre Island for them on their electrical box. Happy Spring Break – I have many fond memories of my own from college to retirement.
