Mammoth Cave National Park

by

The blue Lincoln trail bridge got us back into Kentucky, which is our destination for this road trip. First stop is the Mammoth Cave National Park. We are staying in the campgrounds right here which is nice because we won’t have to drive to the cave tours or hiking trails around the main cave entrance. There are no hook-ups in the campground, so we will have to monitor our battery usage. The shade helps us not run the air-conditioner, our biggest power sucker. Current temperatures are mid-70s during the day with nights in the low 60s, which is just perfect. The kitties are entertained by the numerous birds and squirrels. Coin-operated showers are available at the camp store which is a short walk from our campsite.

We do have some Verizon coverage, but it is not always reliable. We will find a spot tomorrow in the visitor center parking lot for Tony to put up Dishy for work. Shaded but also open to the north? It gets tricky.
