We added a new state — Kentucky! — to our Usain trip map after our most recent adventure. Neither of us had been to Kentucky before so we wanted to spend a few weeks there to get to know it after making stops in Missouri and the Egyptian Hills area.

It was a risk this late in the spring but we got incredibly lucky with the weather. The heat with humidity didn’t chase us home until we saw a great deal of the state. It was absolutely beautiful to drive through this part of the country this time of year. We had some incredible hikes, explored some amazing caves, met some horses up close, and tasted the bourbon.
