There is so much to see in this area of Yellowstone. We are missing some things, but seeing what we can. Biscuit Basin is closed because of the big explosion there this past July that damaged the boardwalk (but no one was hurt). Even with the closed signs and roped off drive, people stop and rangers are in the area to keep the public out. Firehole Lake Drive is also closed to cars.
The drive back to Rainbow Point Campground was uneventful today with no big critter slow-downs. We got groceries in West Yellowstone which has tons of places to eat and to shop for gifts and souvenirs. Tony compared West Yellowstone to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls – very busy and the opposite of the natural world we were just visiting.
