We made it to the Texas Gulf shore in Port Aransas, where we will stay for a week at the Surfside RV & Resort before heading to South Padre Island. There is a ferry to connect Port Aransas to the mainland, but we are driving about ten miles out of the way to come in from the west side of Mustang Island rather than wait in line. We also thought we were avoiding a fee, but found out later that the ferry is free.

This RV park is small, and tucked into a neighborhood in the small town. Everything is within walking distance, and the beach is less than a half-mile from this park. There is a pool, hot tub, sharing library, and nice laundry and bathroom facilities.
