Back on the Poudre Canyon Trail

by

Heading out of Fort Collins we decided to retrace some of our steps from Usain’s maiden voyage. Hard to believe that was 3 years ago this month! We headed west on the winding Poudre Canyon Road taking in all the beauty and the rushing of the Poudre River as it takes the snow melt down the mountains.

After a brief stop at the Moose Visitor Center, we made our way to Ranger Lakes Campground for the night. No hookups here but we were fine drydocking for just one night.

We were able to take a nice walk/hike on the trail around Ranger Lake in the evening and then a hike to higher elevation in the morning. It was cool, with temps in the 50s and 60s and there are still patches of snow in places that don’t get much sun.

This was the view from Usain’s windshield!

Nice! We’re heading into the canyon next week for 3 nights at mountain park campground. In July, we’re camping at Chambers Lake.

    1. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy!

    2. We’ll add that in for next time:)
