Back in June of 2023, Lisa and I paid a visit to the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site in South Dakota. While there, we toured the Launch Control Site, which included a trip underground to the see the Launch Control Center that was responsible for 10 or so Minutemen Launch Sites (aka missile silos) in the area. It was incredibly interesting to see this slice of cold war history and we had hoped to return someday to tour the one remaining Minuteman silo in the area open to the public.

Titan Missile Museum

Fast forward to today, when we were able to tour the Titan Missile Museum outside of Tucson, Arizona. Here we were able go underground and see the control center as well as tour the actual missile silo complete with a disarmed Titan II missile. Lisa and I were fortunate to get a private tour of the South Dakota site (good timing on our part). For our Arizona visit we were joined by Lisa’s dad, his friend David, and our friends, Paul and Roxann, as well as 20 or so other tourists. It made it a bit crowded but we enjoyed the tour none the less. We still hope to make it to the Minuteman site in South Dakota someday, especially now that we’ve seen a Titan site. La Chingada Cocina

We have a nephew on Lisa’s side living in Tuscon, so we were able to arrange a dinner out with “T” and his partner “L” while Lisa’s dad was also in town. Our friends, Paul and Roxann, joined us as well at the La Chingada Cocina in downtown Tucson. We enjoyed a nice evening of good Mexican food, drinks, and conversation.
