Sunbeat Cellars

by

Time for another Harvest Host stay; this evening we will be in San Tan Valley, Arizona, on the outskirts of Phoenix.

We traveled north on Indian Highway 15 which is marked with arrowhead-shaped signs. We noticed many signs were tagged with graffiti, signs in a native language, roadside memorials that included brick and mortar structures, flash flood warning signs and one US border patrol station.

We arrived at our Harvest Host winery mid-afternoon. Our host and his three-year-old, future paleontologist, son gave us a tour of the winery operation, the play room/tasting room, and we were happy to purchase two bottles to take with us. As an urban winery, gets his grapes from Chateau Robles/Paso Robles in California rather than grow them here. He says they can process the grapes hours after harvest even with the transport needed.

We worked on the previous blogs as this was a great afternoon for that ongoing project.
