Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner

by

We found a nice Harvest Hosts’ business to spend the night in order to break up our drive from Palm Springs to our next major stop. Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner is an original roadside diner, built in 1954, that is just outside of Barstow. The wait staff were all decked out in traditional diner attire, and the walls were filled with photos of the rich and famous. We sat in a booth across from the soda fountain where I dined on burger and fries while Lisa had a mushroom omelet.

Out behind the restaurant is a duck pond with a “diner-saur” park along with a stage area set up for live music. There was plenty of parking since the diner shares its lot with a very popular place for truck drivers to spend the night.
