We had a misty morning, and were grateful that we had chosen yesterday to walk the road around Mackinac Island. We set off on the St. Ignace boardwalk to see the Wawatam Lighthouse and the downtown shops. There are 80+ sunken ships out in the straits and a memorial to sailors and ships lost in this area. I’ve seen signs for “pasties” and they refer to a delicious sandwich of sorts that locals love to make around here. I tried a veggie version that had egg plant as it’s base.
