Quintessential Maine Coast Walk

by

The sounds of surf pounding on the rocks & the bells on the buoys, the smells of seaweed & pine trees, and beautiful points to see the surf accompanied us on our coastal trail walk in Acadia. Sometimes there were lots of people, sometimes we were alone. We flagged down a bus at the end of the trail; then we caught a “special” bus headed back to the bus garage, so we got an early ride with no wait back to the campground.

That left time for a delicious dinner at Sweet Pea’s Farm Kitchen which is across Bar Harbor Road from our campground. So many choices at this farm to table eatery—the blueberry margarita was an obvious, ooh-something-blueberry-we-haven’t-tried-yet, choice. Then we had a potato appetizer and a roasted veggie, wood-fired pizza while gazing out on their beautiful landscaping.
