Starved Rock State Park, Illinois

by

From Blue Lake, Indiana, we were about eight hours away from home. That’s a long drive for the cats (and us) so we decided to check out a state park that is only four hours from home. This may be a future site for a family get-together. The campground is mostly wooded with a few sites in the middle that are more open. We picked an open one for Dishy use. The campground is completely booked this weekend, so it is a very popular place for people to come. It’s not too far from Chicago which makes it convenient for millions of people. North Utica is a small town with shopping and wineries adding to the vacation fun.
