Waco, Texas

Ali fixed us a Dutch Baby for breakfast which is one big popover and very delicious. We will have to try these at home!

At Ali’s suggestion, we stopped at a book and music lover’s paradise in Denton. Recycled Books, Records and CDs in located on the town square in the old Wright Opera House. It just keeps going and going, with lots of levels and little, special-interest rooms. I left with only three books, so I behaved:).

In Waco, Texas, we visited the National Mammoth Monument to see a group of Columbian mammoths fossils, which were bigger than the Wooly Mammoths found in Iowa. This is a nursery herd from the last ice age and they are displayed in situ – as found in the ground with a shelter built over the dig site.

We are spending the night at Magnolia RV park in Waco, and it has a new office, laundry and bathhouse along with new sun/rain shelters for RVs in some sites. The bathhouse is one of the best ones I’ve ever been in – it is clean and gorgeous. It was highland cow-themed and even had places specifically for phones.
