A Museum and a Farmer’s Market

by

I used this morning to take advantage of the very clean laundry room at Osen’s RV. It was really nice to not have to drive somewhere else.

We did drive into Livingston in the afternoon because I wanted to go through the Yellowstone Gateway Museum. Tony needed some work time, so I was occupied by the museum while he did that.

The building itself is on the National Register of Historic Places as a school. The four classrooms and landings between them serve as space for the museum’s collections. They also have a research library in the basement.

This museum had a lot packed into this old school, and had displays outside as well.

After the museum, we walked down Yellowstone street, which has several homes/mansions on the National Register, with the goal of finding a statue of Sacajawea. We arrived at Sacajawea park in time for the Farmer’s Market. A one-man-band was performing while we purchased some treats. Sacajawea’s statue was still not to be found, so we had to ask several people in the park for help. We finally found her where the town’s cheerleading squad was taking pictures. Some cute black lab puppies got our attention, but we didn’t adopt one. Can you imagine a puppy in Usain? And, of course, I had to stop in the bookstore before heading back to Osen’s RV.
