We flew into LAX the day before our cruise to make sure weather did not affect our timely arrival to the ship. As it was, there was snow in Denver that delayed the second leg of our flight. We arrived from Des Moines in time to talk with Dad at his gate before he took off on the flight to LAX prior to ours. We both had to sit on the tarmac to await de-icing before take off.

We spent the night at the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Harbor Hotel along with other fellow cruisers. This is a nice area of San Pedro to walk to local restaurants and see the harbor. We found a late lunch at the Think Cafe and had drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the hotel restaurant later.
