1st Port: San Diego, CA

by

We had a beautiful, sunny, 70 degree day to enjoy our first port of call. After a leisurely breakfast and first round of Sudoku in the ship’s library, we disembarked. David has family here, and his nephew Josh, met us dockside with his Tesla. David was convinced we could all fit with me on Tony’s lap, but Dad, Tony and I opted for a taxi from the service that was lined up and ready. Dad “loved” that typical taxi driving experience to Old Town. Taxi drivers are a bold lot.

I did expect to see more Teslas and other electric vehicles on the interstate drives here and in LA, but they are not the majority.

Josh is a life-long resident who loves this area for its perfect weather and accessible wildlife areas nearby. He is also a gem collector which was fun to talk about.
