We arrived shortly after official check-in time on Jan. 1 to our winter destination—South Padre Island. So far it has been a cold couple of weeks, but we see neat things on the beach, get plenty of exercise and fresh air and are hopeful to see a Space X launch soon.

Last April, we got online with friends Paul and Roxann to secure our Isla Blanca Park spots of choice and be neighbors during our time as winter Texans. We thought something had happened to the reservations when we pulled into our spot. Paul and Roxann had arrived about an hour earlier, but their travel trailer was not next to us. Then they piled out of their new fifth-wheel to surprise us with their latest traveling home. It is bigger than the last one, and we will be playing cards in comfortable style!
