My new 3D printer is opening up new possibilities. Since getting our Boldt, I’ve been hauling around around a 1/2″ socket wrench with a 1-1/2″ socket for the sole purpose of opening and closing the plug on the fresh water tank. Most of the time it isn’t needed while traveling, but there have been a few times we needed to winterize or sanitize the tank on our longer trips.

I’ve been learning how to model my own 3D objects, so I thought I’d try my hand at making a tool specific to the Boldt’s fresh water tank plug. It’s a lot lighter, blue, chunky, and works great! Another mod to prove it’s the little things that can make van life better.
