We wanted a thermometer in Usain to keep an eye on the temps, which is now more important than ever since we’re traveling with our cats. A van life YouTuber recommended the Govee brand so I purchased a larger display with backlight as well as one for the fridge (see Refrigerator Thermometer Add-on). While I really like the size of the display and the fact that you can get a temperature history on the Govee app, I made the mistake of getting the one that only has BlueTooth connectivity and not WiFi. Therefore, I can only connect to the thermometer and get alerts when I’m in the van, which isn’t helpful when trying to monitor the temps when we’re out hiking or doing other activities and the cats are in the van. To solve that problem we will typically aim one of the internal security cameras at the thermometer and monitor that way.
