Thankfully we didn’t have far to travel today to get to Makoshika State Park. It was raining as we left the winery, it was raining while we were driving, and it continued to rain all afternoon and into the evening at our new spot. We put on ponchos to walk a trail that is like a rock sidewalk along the main park road from the visitor’s center to our campsite. The sagebrush plants all release their oils in the rain, and it smells really good on our walk. There is a challenging disc golf course here among the badlands landscape.
