Acadia, the Atlantic Ocean, and First Lobster Roll

by

Seawall is our first destination; we are camping here for two nights. The clean bathrooms have flush toilets but no showers. There are pay showers about a half-mile up the road at a little store. We wash up just fine in the back of the van. It’s called Seawall because of the piled up “wall” of rocks that the tides are constantly rearranging. Storms really bring up rocks and pile them up on shore roads. Signs say no taking or moving or piling up rocks—let nature do it.

And, of course, my feet went in the water—it’s cold!

First supper and Tony wants lobster. He found a local restaurant, Archie’s Lobster that serves fresh, daily caught lobster for a traditional mayo lobster roll. I had a cheese quesadilla which was quite delicious.

The shoreline and the wood’s edge are great places to find interesting samples of life on our amazing planet! My Grandma Kinnison loved to collect pretty things from nature—she would appreciate these pictures:)
