We moved Usain to the Seawall Picnic parking area this morning because it is out of the trees for Dishy to connect so Tony can work and it is by the ocean for me to putter around. The tide is out this morning, so I can see the snails and barnacles in little tide pools.

We found the Carriage Road entrance and parked near that for a walk. This is a perfect place for bicycles! We walked along the shore of Eagle Lake which is crystal clear and used for Bar Harbor’s tap water. Wading and swimming are not permitted because of this though you can kayak on it. They don’t have to filter it before treating it for drinking. We then drove to the Hulls Cove Visitor Center to get a big, official map with the hiking trails on it. Using the map, we decided to drive back to the east side of the island, closer to our campsite and hike the Acadia Mountain Trail. That ended in a beautiful lookout over Somes Sound.

A sunset stroll was a great time to see deer. We watched a still-spotted fawn eating and then get reunited with mom. We walked to the shore for a sunset picture and saw more deer on the way back. It was a really warm day—upper 80s and it was still warm enough this evening to not need sweatshirts. Tomorrow will be more of the same.
