With a name like World’s End and described as a “rugged outdoor spot for camping and hiking” this campground could not be passed by. On the way to World’s End State Park, we did pass Ricketts Glen State Park and have put that on our must-see-on-a-return-trip list as it has many waterfalls all on one big hiking loop and comes recommended.
Of course there is no cell service in World’s End and the trees are guaranteed to block Dishy. Tony had a 2:00 online meeting, so I asked the park ranger where we could go, and she suggested the High Knob Overlook. Not only was it a beautiful view, but the wide-open sky was perfect for Dishy. Fall colors were on display.

Our four+ mile hike for the day was in the late afternoon, after the meeting, and from our campground. It started easy by the Loyalsock Creek, then climbed up to the Loyalsock Canyon Lookout for almost 900 feet of elevation change. It was a “medium” in difficulty, but we had to make sure we were down before sunset so we didn’t tarry too much.
