When we’re home, our adventure cats have a double decker hammock as part of their living room cat tree that I made soon after we adopted them.

They love it so much I wanted them to have one in Usain. Unfortunately, there’s not enough room for a double decker, so a single sling had to do. Made from a rug purchased from a big box store with straps that Lisa sewed in, it attaches to hooks I installed into Usain’s cabinets that still allow them to be shut while the sling is up. The sling goes up each night and comes down every morning. Catnip has a routine every evening when we’re getting ready for bed. She waits for the hammock to go up and then immediately jumps into it then proceeds to try to “get me” as I crawl under it and into bed. Both cats will typically take turns during the night using it and sometimes we’ve seen them both in it at the same time when it’s cold.

This is an old mod that I did a year ago but I just now got around to documenting it. Here’s an older picture taken just after I installed it to give it a trial run.
