Preparing to Fly South for the Winter

by

Preparations are officially underway to pack up Usain for another snowbird trip to warmer climates. Assuming that the weather cooperates, we plan to head out on the 19th after celebrating Christmas with the kids the weekend before. This also assumes that we can get Usain out of the shop. After replacing the front tires in New Hampshire during our last adventure, we were experiencing vibrations at higher speeds that we hoped was the result of a bad balancing job. After taking Usain into the local Mercedes dealer, we learned it was a bit more serious. The New Hampshire people had somehow managed to ruin the rims when they replaced the tires. Ugh! We are currently waiting for replacement aluminum rims to be delivered from Winnebago, but supposedly they are “on the way”.

The break from traveling has given us the opportunity to perform some additional mods to Usain as well as needed maintenance. I’ll be posting some of these to this site for those interested in them. If you’re one of our email subscribers and only interested in Lisa’s travel blog, then I apologize in advance for the upcoming spam you’ll be receiving. 🙂
