Our drive today across Wyoming was uneventful. We are always amazed at the scenery along I-80, with abrupt changes from prairie to mountain, then back to some farmland, then more mountains. We stopped at the Sherman Summit rest stop at the highest point of the entire I-80 route at 8,640 feet. There is a massive bronze bust of President Lincoln here. It was sunny, but cool at this elevation as we enjoyed a break and ate lunch.

Green River RV Park
We came through Green River in May of 2023 while heading to the Great Salt Lake. We toured their town museum and learned about town history and Trona, which is used in making baking soda in southwestern Wyoming. For this trip, we stayed at the Green River RV Park, a small park on the western edge of town with level spots and a very nice bathhouse. We took a short walk down to the Green River after supper, watched a rather long Union Pacific train, and enjoyed drinks from the RV Park’s bar. That was an unexpected and very nice amenity.
